If you’re about to build a boat and looking for a set of plans, there’s nothing better than building your boat with plywood boat plans.

This is just my opinion but the official site to be used for any boat building plans is here.

If you read my previous posts, you’ll see why I love to use plywood for boat building. It really does create fantastic boats.

I have done 2 projects. My first one was smaller and the second one was more ambitious.

Second Project: Larger row boat.

But both of these projects wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t had the help of a great plan.

The best part is, you don’t need many tools for the job. For building a row boat like you see in my pictures above, the 2 things used the most were: a drill and a sabre saw.

The boats are made out of plywood and I managed to save some money on more expensive material.

The best part is, it became much easier once I saw the plywood boat plans.

After seeing my pride and joy first time around, I was ecstatic. I told as many people as I could to see and hear their reaction. You can imagine the response.

The best part is, once you’ve built your own boat, you can take it out on the lake and relax whenever you feel like. I love doing this, but sadly, my other commitments don’t give me much time.

Anyhow, seeing how well the first project went, I decided to embark on a bigger and better project. I got the plan for this (link below) and started. It was a labor of love, although sometimes, I couldn’t be asked working on it on a tiresome day.

Nevertheless, I got the project completed. You can see the larger boat in the 2nd picture above. Didn’t bother painting that one.

My family loves boating and whenever there’s a chance, they’ll jump into the boat at hollow ponds and start rowing.

If you’re thinking of embarking on a similar project, please don’t start without a good set of plans, no matter where you get them from. A good plan will help you throughout your project as it did for me.

Building a boat is not for the faint-hearted. It does take effort but it is extremely rewarding.

Building my one took me a while to do and it was very challenging and I needed all the help I could get. Fortunately, I found one single resource which made the entire project like putty in my hands from that point forward.

Armed with the right small plywood boat plans, the project was not only possible, but much easier.

These kids really impressed me and it also impresses me that the father trusts both of them with power tools. Good mature kids!

If you intend making a specific type of boat such as a jon or row boat, you’ll need to focus your attention of the plywood boat construction part of it. This means getting the relevant plywood boats plans. Whether you start off with plywood jon boat plans or plywood row boat plans, you can’t mix and match or it will end up a disaster.

If you start off with a large selection of different styles, choosing the right plan for you will easier as you’ll be able to compare one with the other.

Many builders, start off with a specific plan instead of browsing through the larger selection at the beginning. It could give you better ideas.
You may be searching for something along the lines of plywood fishing boat plans when all of a sudden, you realize that the plywood drift boat plans you saw earlier, actually fitted your selection better for the job.

Building a boat made from plywood is a great choice. If your looking for strength and buoyancy (which you better have), plywood delivers better than the rest. Plywood is easy to shape, mould and cut not to mention cheaper than other materials.

This is the reason many first time boat builders were able to construct beautiful boats at a very small cost compared with similar looking models.
Of course, they used a good set of plywood boat plans before they took the first step and that is how they achieved the success they did, first time around.

Building your own wooden boat can be a challenge and you’re going to need a good set of plywood boat plans.

If you’re a boater, you already know how satisfying and gratifying it can be when you build your own boat.

Furthermore, custom made boats are great for showing off to friends and family. They are indeed popular.

Whatever you decide to make, make sure you have everything ready before you start and this includes the most essential element – the plywood boat building plans.

Whether you’ve paid for the plywood boat plan or you got hold of some free plywood boat plans, it better be good and not made by some fellow in his back yard.
